How Case Law Sources (KMF Enterprises, LLC) handles information when you sign in with Facebook or Google and use the research desk.

Who we are

Case Law Sources is a research desk for verified quotations from court decisions, operated by KMF Enterprises, LLC.

What we store

Facebook Login gives us your Facebook user ID only (we request id, not your name, email, friends, or posts). Google sign-in gives us your Google account subject identifier only (openid scope; we do not request email or profile). We store that opaque account ID in a short-lived signed session cookie, with optional allowlist or subscription tier and monthly usage counters for free and paid limits. Facebook and Google sign-ins stay separate until you link them on your Account page — we never join them by email. If you type an email on Account and press Ack in the message we send, we store that chosen address after confirmation so we can reach you and, when it matches a GiveSendGo or GitHub Sponsors address, recognize a sponsorship. We also process the searches and citation actions you run while signed in. If you press to speak a search question, we send that recording to a speech-to-text contractor to turn it into text; we do not store the audio.

How we use it

We use your Facebook or Google account ID to sign you in, keep you signed in, and enforce monthly use limits on the desk. We use a confirmed Account email only for messages we send you and to match a GiveSendGo or GitHub sponsorship to this login. Spoken questions are sent to a speech-to-text contractor to produce text for the search box; we do not keep the audio. Platform API calls are attributed to our tenant service, not shown as your social profile in the product.

Retention

Session cookies expire on a short TTL. Your account ID and usage/tier records stay while you use the service. If you ask us to remove your account, we follow the timeline on the Remove your account page (sign-in stops promptly; durable ID and usage counters are kept until the end of the current UTC calendar month so free-tier limits cannot be reset by signing in again).

Sharing

We do not sell personal information. Cloud hosting runs the service under contract. Spoken search questions are sent to a speech-to-text contractor and are not stored by us. Corpus excerpts are public court records, not your personal data.

Your choices
